Distilled Water for Injection.
1 mL of solution contains:
Active substances: Distilled Water, %0.9, NaCl, 0.9% Benzyl alcohol
A special compound, manufactured to be used in injections. Bacteriostatic Water is used by athletes and bodybuilders to dilute drugs that can subsequently be administered by intravenous, intramuscular, or subcutaneous injection.
The main use of the compound is to dilute or dissolve medications with a container that can be reentered multiple times, while the benzyl alcohol suppresses or stops the growth of most potentially contaminating bacteria.
The volume of the preparation to be used for diluting or dissolving any drug for injection is dependent on the compound concentration.
Fever, local tenderness, abscess, tissue necrosis or infection at the site of injection, venous thrombosis or phlebitis extending from the site of injection and extravasation.
Do not use Bacteriostatic Water for intravenous injection unless the osmolar concentration of additives results in an approximate isotonic admixture.
There are no registered cases of overdosage.
